Thousands of Twitter Followers…What’s All the Fuss About?

If you are a subscriber , then you will already know that I’m NOT a big fan of Twitter, it just doesn’t do it for me, yes I know…all the “gurus” are raving about it, but reading other peoples “Tweets/SPAM” bores the crap out of me I’d rather spend my energy on other marketing techniques that I know work well.

I use Facebook quite alot to keep intouch with friends, not for marketing (apart from their ppc ads), however, Facebook have what is called a “status update” which is just what Twitter is, and I’ve used this a few times and people just seem to love to see what everyones status is and comment on them etc.

Personally I think my friends have far too much time on their hands, but it got me thinking, if my small group of friends are taking note of what everyones elses status update is saying, then what if I had thousands of followers on Twitter? Would it be worth getting all those followers? It’s time to find out…..

I’ve decided to give it a go, and give it a proper test to see if it really is worth having alot of followers and see if these followers convert to traffic and sales etc, there’s a couple of services that are on the go to help in my quest:-

http://twitterlistbuilder.com/bummarketing
http://twitteronlinesystem.com/bummarketing

Both the above services are very similar and look to be good for gaining Twitter followers quickly, of course you’ve got to keep your followers interested in your posts, there’s no point blasting offer after offer at them because that just won’t work, there are plenty of idiots out there doing that.

I would love to know what your experiences of Twitter are, have you had any success? Please let us know by posting below.

Neil,

I have to agree with you, I don’t think Twitter is worth my time, but I would LOVE to be proved wrong! (If you can!) I don’t really care to hear about what you ate for lunch or what your cat is doing at any given moment… I don’t see how this is going to help me make money.

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent on this issue. :-)

Hi I also agree that I find twitter rather odd and irritating. Either completely random statements or spam. I have looked into it and did start to get followers. I didn’t however spam them with any offers I just also made lots of random, strange statements. Didn’t want to be the odd one out!! lol

Hi Neil,
Actually I find twitter rather addictive and fun. I try to keep track of the kinds of people that are following me though. I make sure that spammers and other promoters won’t make it to my list. And so far, the amount of web traffic that it brings to my site are

However, the followers on Twitter are not as responsive as compared to followers on a Facebook fan page for example. But to a certain extent, twitter does help in getting web traffic to your site. You could get like 100 hits per day or so if you have like 1000 followers.
